Employment and Career Programs
Any stage in a young person’s life is a step towards their first and future jobs, all activities add up to skills that eventually come into play in training and employment. Some young people start as early as 12 with a paper run while other don’t seek employment until they are 17 or 18 years old.
At Youth Up Front, we believe to make the right choice, it should be an informed choice. That is why we design and deliver programs which provide a young person with the knowledge of options and professional insight from local business to ensure they make the right first choice.
Knowing where to go to get the right information. How to present yourself. Empathy – and its role in growth and development and of course, industry exploration. You can’t make a choice without all the facts.
The Foundation for Young Australians reports - "It's more likely that a 15-year-old today will experience a portfolio career, potentially having 17 different jobs over five careers in their lifetime".
That is why backing our employment and career programs is a strong team of professional youth workers with counselling, vocational and teaching skills to ensure the development and recognition of the foundational life skills needed to have a good solid start to their future.
